Mrs. Clancy's Gemini and Honors Biology classes participated in Science On Seneca on Monday, 5/6. SOS is a program through Hobart & William Smith Colleges' Finger Lakes Institute that allows students to collect important environmental information from Seneca Lake aboard the HWS William Scandling research vessel.
Students collected data from three different sites around Seneca in the areas of water chemistry, plankton biology, and sediment samples from the bottom of the lake. This data is entered into a database that has been compiled for a couple of decades to monitor lake health. Mr. Atkinson and Ms. Williams were also on board to help students at the different data stations.
