Please take time this summer to visit the Kindness Rock Garden outside opposite side of butterfly garden!! It is at the elementary building on William Street on the North Side of the building opposite of the staff parking lot.
Ms. Mares worked with the after school program kiddos (all ages) on painting rocks for the last few months. They all worked hard to finish painting many rocks. After painting, the older kids wrote positive messages on each rock.
Ms. Mares said, "We had thought about how we all have bad days, and that sometimes all it takes is a little kindness to turn the day around. We got the idea after seeing positive messages written in chalk at a park. We then took off with the idea to put messages on rocks."
Students also planted flowers from seeds in the garden outside of the Pre-K rooms, next to the rock garden.
It was a fun project. The kids worked hard and were very proud of it and the messages they shared!
