Winter Spirit Week 2024
Lyons Central School District students celebrated Winter Spirit Week with festive outfits for holiday-themed days, spreading joy and school spirit throughout the week!
Lyons Elementary teachers and staff brought holiday cheer to life by customizing the "12 Days of Christmas" for their students! Their creative and festive rendition, showcased during this week’s assembly, left students smiling and full of holiday spirit. A wonderful example of Lyons' dedication to making learning fun and memorable!
The Middle High School PTO, in collaboration with the Lyons Fire Department and LCSD Bus Garage, organized the Holiday Express, spreading festive cheer throughout the town of Lyons. This heartwarming event brought the community together as the Holiday Express made its way around, sharing holiday joy. In addition to the parade, the PTO coordinated a fundraiser to provide presents and holiday meals for LCSD families in need, ensuring that everyone in the community could experience the warmth and spirit of the season.
A festive moment as elementary teachers formed a holiday band, joined by legendary LES Principal Mr. Clark for a special reprise! The teachers, along with Mr. Clark, filled the school with holiday cheer, singing as students arrived to start their day. Their joyful performance set a warm, festive tone for the morning, bringing smiles to everyone who passed by.
Seventh-grade students in Mrs. Kesel's Social Studies class are diving into the causes of the American Revolution! They analyze primary source documents through an engaging gallery walk, fostering critical thinking and historical inquiry.
Elementary students had a blast on the ropes course in gym class, testing their agility, teamwork, and coordination while navigating fun and challenging rope activities!
Mrs. Brook's High School Ceramics class crafted clay ornaments they later painted in Ms. Linzy's Art classes. The high schoolers had the chance to visit and interact with the young artists, sharing in the holiday spirit through this creative and collaborative activity!
Mrs. Bookmiller's fifth graders had an inspiring visitor from the senior class, Braden Bookmiller, who helped them create holiday decorations and ornaments!
Mrs. Kesel and Cady brought festive cheer to MS/HS students by dressing up as the Grinch and his loyal dog Max. They greeted students with smiles and holiday spirit as they entered school, creating a memorable and heartwarming start to the day!
Elementary students enjoy a fun-filled movie outing at the Ohmann Theater, our hometown movie theater that graciously hosts our students each year. It’s always a highlight for the kids, providing them a memorable experience in our local community!
Lyons alumni, former students of Ms. Gansz's Leadership Class, returned to share their college experiences with current juniors and seniors. They offered valuable insights and answered questions to help ease the transition to college life, providing guidance on academics, social challenges, and personal growth.

The winter pep rally celebrated winter sports and holiday spirit week with festive activities, lively cheers, and school pride. Students and staff showed off their holiday spirit, kicking off the season with excitement and energy.

Their creative designs and festive details brought holiday cheer to the school and earned them first place in the hallway decorating contest. Great job to all the classes that participated!
