Lyons Varsity Basketball player Jamire "JJ" Johnson achieved a significant milestone by scoring his 1,000th career point, highlighting his dedication and talent on the court. Coach Dean Schott commented, "JJ reaching his 1,000th career point is a big accomplishment. It's very special to achieve such a milestone in your junior year of high school. He's an impressive young man, and I know even greater things are in store for him."
In Mr. Benderski's physics class, students explored dynamics with Newton's Cradle. This engaging activity helped them understand the impulse-momentum theorem and the conservation of momentum during collisions. They also learned to quantify impulse and momentum using the relevant equations, making the concepts more accessible and relatable.
Miss Williamson's class had fun predicting the weather as they worked on their Groundhog Day projects, estimating whether we’ll have more winter or early spring. Students showcased their creativity and reasoning as they made their forecasts and shared their predictions!
Lyons Middle School students showcased their math skills at the Mathalon, demonstrating teamwork and problem-solving abilities. Congratulations to Zaydin Morgan, Michael Black, and Elizabeth Burry for earning second place and to Paige Crandon, Makenkie Kesel, and Elinor Lawson for securing third place!
Lyons seniors took their learning beyond the classroom, using the hallway as a creative space to collaborate on their English project.
