Congratulations to our January 2024 Athletes of the Month!
BOYS BASKETBALL: Michael Briggs
“Mike is filling up the stat sheet in his Senior campaign averaging 12.5 points, 7 assists, 5 steals and 5 rebounds per game. His hustle and willingness to sacrifice his body is contagious."
CHEERLEADING: Natalie Chardeen
“The only senior on the Cheerleading team, Natalie is a leader on and off the mat. She works well with all of her teammates and has grown tremendously throughout her cheer career. She has helped the team to place in several local tournaments recently."
GIRLS BASKETBALL: Car’Mella Parker
“Car’Mella is a hard worker and has started every game this season. In the month of January she averaged 13.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in helping her team to a winning record. She scored 21 against EMCHS, 21 versus Greece Arcadia/Olympia and a season high 23 points against North Rose Wolcott this month."
WRESTLING: Braydon Dapolito
“Braydon wrestles at 285-pound weight class. He works well in practice and often has to go against partners in practice who are much lighter than him. He has a 27 - 11 record at this weight class this season."
GIRLS INDOOR TRACK: Kira Collett
“Kira is a sprinter and hurdler on the track and field team in her sophomore year. Kira won her event in the 55-hurdles at the Divisional Championship meet making her the fastest female hurdler in our division. She always shows up to practice ready to work and to get better. Her times have continually been getting better from year to year, even week to week. Congratulations kira on the first place finish!"
BOYS INDOOR TRACK: Marcus Wood-Asberry
"Marcus is a sprinter on the track and field team in his junior year. He recently broke the school record in the 55-meter race with a time of 6.85 (previous record 6.95) and has since broken his own record posting a time of 6.66-seconds. Marcus placed 3rd overall in the 55-meter race and 6th overall in the 300-meter race at the Divisional Championships at RIT. We look forward to his upcoming races at the League Championships and Sectional Championships in the upcoming weeks. If he competes well at these meets he'll have a chance to run in the state qualifiers in February. Keep up the good work, Marcus!"
BOWLING: Connor Gage
"Connor has been steadily improving throughout the year and has been a key contributor to the Varsity team this season. His high series this year is 411 and his high game is 150. He has increased his average by 10 pins over a span of 14 matches. Just a 7th grader, his future is very bright."
SWIM AND DIVE: John Bullock
"John was a large part of our undefeated season where we were league champions and was a big part of our league invitational championship win this past weekend as well. He placed 6th in the 200 freestyle (time of 2:23.01) and took 4th in the 100 backstroke (time of 1:06.89)."
