For the first time in recent history, the Lyons Lions Varsity Wrestling team has claimed the Finger Lakes West League Championship outright, securing a hard-fought 30-24 victory against Dundee last night. This historic achievement marks a significant milestone for the program and a testament to the dedication of student-athletes, coaches, and the supportive Lyons community.
“It’s a big accomplishment for our program to win the league championship,” said Lyons Athletic Director Zac Young. “I’d like to thank all our student-athletes, their families, and the community for their support. I’d especially like to recognize our seniors, who worked hard to build our numbers and get us to where we are today. We are looking forward to sectionals in ER on Saturday.”
The Lions now set their sights on sectional competition, carrying their momentum and determination into the next challenge. Congratulations to the team on this incredible achievement and best of luck in sectionals!
