Snowsports Club is currently open to MS/HS students (LES involvement TBD). We go to Brantling Ski Slopes for five (5) Fridays starting January 5th. The bus will leave the MS/HS at 3:30pm and will leave Brantling at 8:00pm. A message from Zac Young, LCSD Athletic Director: Our girls Volleyball team has advanced to the Semi-Finals of the Class C2 tournament. They will play Letchworth at Newark High School on Tuesday, October 31st at 6:00PM.

On Thursday, October 19th, Lyons HS 10th-12th graders traveled to the Monroe County Fleet Center for the 25th Annual Rochester Careers in Construction Day! Students operated heavy equipment, spoke with Union reps regarding apprenticeship pathways, spoke with employers, and interacted with post-secondary department members in the fields of construction. The events were interactive, hands on, and provided a snapshot of training and job duties in fields such as brick laying, iron working, carpentry, soldering, welding, sheet metal fabrication, and much much more.

Last week, Midland Asphalt paid a visit to LES to present to our third graders. They learned about the asphalt industry, PPE (personal protective equipment), how to stay safe on the job, Halloween trick-or-treating safety tips, as well as seeing samples of asphalt binders and hot mix asphalt samples. They were also able to see the asphalt distributor truck and how that operates!

Our Varsity Volleyball team completed a 19-0 season and is seeded #2 in the Class C2 Sectional Tournament. Our team will compete on Friday, October 27th at 5:30 pm at the Lyons Community Center.
